Creating a teen bedroom is something that has no fixed rules or ideas to follow. Until of course you ask their opinion (LOL!)

 

Seriously, start with a blank canvas in mind. Remove any preferences you may have and have an open mind. With teenagers it might be easier to start with the theme and then go on from there. Having a theme does not necessarily have to be an obvious one like sports for boys. When dealing with teenage bedrooms a theme translates into feeling and atmosphere. What sort of atmosphere are they after? A 14 year old looking to show off his football trophies can have his room decorated in various shades of his team’s colours and finished with a football canvas art or a favourite photo transferred onto canvas. A wall shelf should display his trophies and medals. In the same vein, a gothic princess can still have her theme, just classy and even likeable with the right furniture and décor, using just the right amount of black. We love the Cinderella bed in black!
